Biography

Ronan joined HØIBERG in November 2021. Ronan counsels as a patent attorney within various technical fields including electronics, communication systems, photonics, mechanical engineering and more globally physics-based technologies.

Ronan’s clients include start-up companies, individual scientists and professors from Danish universities, and medium/large-size companies primarily in the electronics and software fields. His clients are largely concentrated in the electrical and mechanical engineering sectors. Ronan has experience in all types of patent-related counseling, including patentability analyses, prosecution and drafting of patent applications, landscape analyses, and freedom-to-operate analyses. He has gained significant insights into business strategy through close collaboration with IP departments of large companies and is dedicated to assisting his clients with a wide range of challenges beyond patent drafting and prosecution.

Ronan holds a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Cergy-Pontoise and has a diverse background in electronics, IT, energy management, and embedded systems. Before focusing on electrical engineering, he studied mechanical engineering, giving him a comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering patents. Ronan worked at Bell Labs in Paris for three years while completing his PhD and then spent six years in Denmark as an IC designer and layouter at Mellanox and NVIDIA, gaining valuable experience in IC design, layout, project management, and leadership.
