Biography

Morten counsels within all aspects of chemistry-related sciences ranging from pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and diagnostics to catalysis, materials, greentech and chemical manufacturing. Morten joined HØIBERG in 2020. He has a background in chemistry.

Mortens clients represent both early- and late-stage start-up companies ranging from individual scientists to small- and medium-sized companies all the way to Danish Universities and publically traded companies, mainly within the field of chemistry and the pharmaceutical industry. Morten has experience in all types of patent related counseling including patenting strategies, patentability assessments, IP prosecution, freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses, due diligence, and more.

Morten has a Master’s degree and a PhD in chemistry from University of Copenhagen with emphasis in chemical synthesis and characterization of transition metal complexes and heterogeneous catalysts for the purpose of electrified production of hydrogen. Part of his PhD was carried out in joint collaboration with TOPSOE as leading company within the heterogeneous catalysis space.

Prior to joining HØIBERG, Morten spent two years as a postdoc at the Technical University of Denmark working on synthesis and characterization of electrically conducting molecules and polymers.
