A modest, focused and strong-minded World Champion… These are all qualities that characterize Peter Borg Gaarde, European Patent Attorney and newly appointed Partner at HØIBERG A/S, who turns 40 on Friday 30 August 2013.

Peter Borg Gaarde financed his studies in physics and mathematics at Copenhagen University as a hardworking bike messenger in the streets of Copenhagen. Peter Borg Gaarde even got to call himself a genuine World Champion after he won the Cycle Messengers World Championship in 1998 in Washington DC - a title he also shares with his wife who won the same championship for women in 1999.

After graduation Peter Borg Gaarde spent the first 7 years working for a major international telecom company with product development and production of fiber optics, without giving up his cycling, as he successfully combined work and a career as an elite racer with numerous wins both in Denmark and abroad.
Peter joined HØIBERG in 2007, who wanted to strengthen their skills in their mechanical team. Today, he works in a strong team at HØIBERG focusing directly on technical and mechanical patents.

HØIBERG is market leading in patent and trademark consulting and is a full-service patent agency. Peter Borg Gaarde’s team assists Danish, European and American clients with the drafting of patents, counseling and protection of intellectual property rights, from HØIBERG’s offices in both Copenhagen and Aarhus.

In the last couple of years Peter Borg Gaarde has been busy in life and has with willpower and determination managed to stay focused on his career as a European Patent Attorney and Partner in HØIBERG, but also on everyday life with his family in the apartment in Frederiksberg consisting of his wife and daughters aged 3 and 7. Peter still rides his bike, but nowadays it is mainly in the company of his daughters who are being schooled in the Copenhagen traffic by two experienced bicycle messengers.
