Marielle counsels on all areas of life science but specialises in health and medicine, drugs, molecular biology and biotechnology.

Her clients range from innovative startup companies and individual scientists to Danish universities and medium-sized companies primarily in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. They are largely concentrated in medicaments, small molecules, proteins and genes, biomarkers, medical treatment and diagnostic.

Marielle joined HØIBERG in 2007 and became partner in 2014. Marielle counsels on all aspects of patenting, from patentability assessments and drafting patent applications and prosecuting same in Europe and the rest of the world, opposition proceedings, formulating IPR strategies, freedom-to-operate analysis and assisting in IP due diligence.

Marielle has a background in human biology with focus on pathophysiology, cell biology and pharmacology. In 2007 she obtained the Industrial PhD degree from the University of Copenhagen in collaboration with the National University Hospital and a medium-sized Danish biotech company.
