About Ronan Mettetal

PhD (Electrical Engineering), University of Cergy-Pontoise, France, 2016

MSc (Electrical Engineering), ENSEA, France, 2012

Ronan joined Høiberg in 2021. He has worked for 9 years as an Electronic Design Engineer in Nokia Bell Labs, Mellanox and NVIDIA.

He holds a Master Degree in engineering from the ENSEA, which is a French engineer school preparing students for general engineering careers in electronics, IT, telecommunications and embedded systems. He has a specialization in RF engineering, which emphasizes microwaves, antennas and optical communications.

Before getting in the ENSEA, Ronan followed a 2-years higher school preparatory class where he also learnt mechanical engineering.

Ronan holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cergy-Pontoise, in the Paris suburbs. His PhD project focused on the study and design of analog equalizers for optical communications beyond 100 Gb/s. This project was realized in collaboration with Alcatel-Lucent/Nokia Bell Labs. He developed multiple analog equalizers with significant results in the field, which lead to the redaction of multiple scientific papers and presentations in scientific conferences.

After graduating his PhD, he joined Mellanox in 2016 in Denmark as an IC designer. He developed high-speed integrated circuits, such as transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs), linear drivers and voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs), all targeting 25/50-GBds applications. He was design chip leader for the first generation of silicon-photonic chipsets, leading the whole design flow from concept to final tape-out.

Ronan holds a strong expertise in integrated circuit analog design, especially within high-speed/high frequency applications, and he has a deep knowledge in the silicon photonic field.
