Lyubomir joined HØIBERG in 2026 and counsels as a patent consultant in our Life Science team.
Lyubomir has experience in various types of patent related counselling, including, drafting and prosecution of patent applications, patentability assessments and Freedom-to-operate analyses.
During his doctoral studies, he focused on plasma membrane transporters involved in antifungal resistance, working with both live yeast models and artificial membranes such as liposomes. After earning his PhD, Lyubomir shifted from basic to applied research, joining the biochemical engineering group at the University of Copenhagen. He further broadened his expertise in applied biotechnology by joining DTU Biosustain’s yeast metabolic engineering group. He contributed to optimizing the production of valuable compounds in microbial cell factories by researching plasma membrane proteins involved in transport processes.
With 11 years of research experience, Lyubomir has used a wide array of biochemical, biophysical, and cellular techniques, including advanced confocal microscopy, CRISPR genome editing, and flow cytometry.
