Anne Sofie counsels, as Patent Consultant on various areas within life science from cell factories and bioengineering to food and medico technology. Anne Sofie joined HØIBERG in 2021. She has a background in Biotechnology and Bioengineering.

Anne Sofie’s clients range from innovative start-up companies to Danish universities and medium-sized companies within life science industry. She has experience in different types of patent related counselling, including prosecution of patent applications, patentability assessments, patent landscape and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Anne Sofie has an MSc Eng degree in Biotechnology and a PhD degree in Synthetic Biology and Bioengineering from Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability, DTU Biosustain, at Technical University of Denmark. During her education, she obtained extensive knowledge within biotechnology-oriented topics such as metabolic engineering, molecular biology, biochemistry, fermentation and bioinformatics. Part of her PhD studies was carried out at University of Washington, Seattle, USA, where she acquired experience in specialized laboratory evolution and yeast genetics.

Prior to joining HØIBERG, Anne Sofie was employed as postdoctoral researcher at DTU Bioengineering, where she worked on within the field of biomanufacturing of proteins.
