Emelie Alsheim Bocutt

Emelie joined HØIBERG in 2025, and counsels as a patent consultant in our Life Science team.

Emelie has experience in various types of patent related counselling, including, drafting and prosecution of patent applications, patentability assessments and Freedom-to-operate analyses.

Emelie holds a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Glasgow Caledonian University, a master’s degree in Infection Biology from Uppsala University and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bath.

Emelie has extensive knowledge within bacteriology, infectious diseases, microbial genetics, and therapeutics and has previously conducted research focusing on novel antimicrobials at the Karolinska Institute.

During her PhD, Emelie developed a point-of-care test for Group B Streptococcal infection using fluorescent liposomes. During her work she led a pre-clinical study, and her work focused on early diagnostics, virulence, and co-infections, with part of her work being conducted at the UK Health Security Agency.
