Janni counsels, as a European Patent Attorney, on all areas of life science, but specialises in health and medicine, biotechnology, diagnostics, medical devices and food technology. Janni joined HØIBERG in 2009, and became partner in 2016. Janni has a background in molecular cell biology.

Janni’s clients range from innovative start-up companies and individual scientists to Danish universities and medium-sized companies primarily in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. She has wide experience in all types of patent related counselling, including patent strategies, prosecution of patent applications, oppositions/appeals, due diligence, freedom-to-operate analyses and supplementary protection certificates (SPCs). In addition, Janni has extensive experience in representing clients at oral proceedings before the EPO Examining Divisions, Opposition Divisions and Boards of Appeal.

Janni has a Master’s degree in human biology and a PhD in molecular cell biology, both from the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at University of Copenhagen.

Prior to joining HØIBERG, Janni was a research scientist at Chr. Hansen exploring probiotics-induced gene expression patterns.
