Marisa counsels, as a European Patent Attorney, on all areas of life science on anything from biotechnology to drugs, diagnostics, medical devices, food technology, and greentech. Marisa joined HØIBERG in 2015. She has a background in Biotechnology.

Marisa’s clients range from innovative start-up companies and individual scientists to Danish and Swedish universities and medium-sized companies primarily in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. She has experience in all types of patent related counselling, including patent strategies, prosecution of patent applications, oppositions, due diligence and freedom-to-operate analyses.

Marisa has a Master degree in Biotechnology from University of Pavia (Italy) and a PhD degree in Biotechnology from Lund University (Sweden). During her biotechnology studies, she obtained extensive knowledge within biochemistry and microbiology, including fermentation, as well as molecular biology. During her PhD she also acquired experience in physical and chemical processes for removal of organic pollutants, as well as photocatalyis.
