Saumey joined HØIBERG in 2025 as a Patent Consultant within the HighTech team. He works at the intersection of engineering and life sciences, with a strong interdisciplinary background spanning biotechnology, nanotechnology, and electrical engineering.
He has experience in various types of patent-related counselling, including drafting and prosecution of patent applications, patentability assessments, and Freedom-to-Operate analyses. His work focuses on technologies bridging MedTech, sensors, and advanced materials.
Saumey holds a B.Tech in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology, an MSc in Engineering Physics (Nanotechnology), and is currently defending his PhD in Electrical Engineering—both from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. His doctoral research focused on the development of tunneling nanogap and solid-state nanopore systems for molecular sensing, as well as microfluidic platforms for cell culture.
His academic background and research have given him a deep understanding of sensing technologies, microfabrication, and interdisciplinary innovation at the interface of engineering and the life sciences.
