Stefan Holm Nygaard is Associate Partner at HØIBERG and a European Patent Attorney with broad experience in the HighTech field. He advises clients on inventions that bridge Life Sciences and HighTech, including diagnostic systems, medical devices, sensors, additive manufacturing, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in healthcare.
Stefan works with a diverse range of clients, from innovative start-ups and university researchers to global industry leaders. He provides comprehensive advice on all aspects of intellectual property, including patent strategy, drafting and prosecution, oppositions, due diligence, freedom-to-operate analyses, and IP valuation, often in the context of investment or acquisition.
He holds MSc and PhD degrees from Lund University, with a technical background in biomedical engineering, nanotechnology, and biophysics. His doctoral research, carried out in collaboration with European research institutes and industrial partners, focused on micro- and nanostructures for bioparticle analysis and the development of advanced diagnostic platforms.
